Aqara P100, Shelly Presence Gen4, and Matter 1.5.1
This week in smart home: New Matter devices, a protocol update, and a wake-up light tip
This week: Aqara launches two new Matter devices, Shelly debuts its first mmWave presence sensor, Matter gets a camera update, and the SwitchBot app disappears from the German App Store. Plus: how to turn any HomeKit lamp into a wake-up light.
Aqara P100: Door and Window Sensor Without a Magnet

Aqara has introduced the Multi-State Sensor P100. The compact sensor uses an accelerometer, gyroscope, and geomagnetic sensors to detect whether doors or windows are opened. The standout feature: no separate magnet required. The P100 also registers vibrations and tilt changes. Communication runs via Matter over Thread.
Aqara W200: Thermostat Hub with Touchscreen and mmWave
Also new from Aqara: the Thermostat Hub W200. The device combines a thermostat with a smart home hub. A 4-inch touchscreen displays temperature, humidity, and device status. Integrated mmWave radar detects presence. The W200 is one of the first devices to support Apple's Adaptive Temperature Control from iOS 26.
Shelly Presence Gen4: mmWave Sensor with Matter

Shelly's first mmWave presence sensor is here. The Presence Gen4 detects up to six people simultaneously across 42 square meters. Ten individual detection zones can be configured. The device supports Matter over WiFi, Zigbee 3.0, and Bluetooth 5 LE.
Worth Watching: Sleepal AI Lamp Review
Shane Whatley reviewed the Sleepal AI Lamp. The smart lamp tracks sleep contactlessly, adapts wake-up lighting automatically, and offers white noise functions along with environmental sensors.
In Brief
SwitchBot App Removed from German App Store

The official SwitchBot app disappeared from the German App Store in late March. The OneRobotics app serves as an alternative for managing existing accounts and devices. Devices already integrated via Matter continue to work independently.
Matter 1.5.1 Released with Camera Improvements

The Connectivity Standards Alliance has published Matter specification 1.5.1. The focus is on multi-stream video cameras with improved pan and zoom controls. Apple Home still does not support the Matter camera standard.
Tip of the Week: Create a HomeKit Wake-Up Light

Any HomeKit-compatible lamp can become a wake-up light with Controller for HomeKit. Using the workflow feature, you create an automation that gradually adjusts brightness and color temperature over a customizable period. From warm red to bright white. Start time, duration, and weekdays are fully configurable.
