Aqara Track System, Shelly Gen4, and Nuki Smart Module

This week was all about Light + Building 2026 in Frankfurt. Aqara showed a modular track system and new lights, Shelly introduced twelve Gen4 devices with Matter, Nuki unveiled an invisible Smart Module for door frames, and Rademacher received Matter certification for a roller shutter belt winder.

Aqara: Track System and New Lights

Aqara expanded its ecosystem across multiple categories at Light + Building 2026. New outdoor lights, LED strips, floor lamps, and smart bulbs with a color temperature range of 2,000 to 9,000 Kelvin were showcased. All support Thread and Zigbee. Most exciting: the magnetic track system, previously China-exclusive, may be coming to Europe. It enables flexible placement of lamps, cameras, presence sensors, and accessories on a single rail. Also new: the U600 smart lock with Apple Home Key and Matter over Thread.

Shelly Gen4: Twelve New Devices with Matter

Shelly introduced twelve new Gen4 devices with Matter support at Light + Building. The Flood S Gen4 is a particularly compact water sensor with Matter, WiFi, Zigbee, and Bluetooth. Also new: the Plug C Gen4 and Plug C PM Gen4 in Schuko format, with the PM variant offering energy monitoring. For installations without a neutral wire, there are the 1L Gen4 and 2L Gen4 switch actuators. The Pro 1PM 40A Gen4 covers high-power applications. All Gen4 devices support WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, and Matter.

Nuki Smart Module: Invisibly Smart

Nuki has introduced the Smart Module. It integrates directly into the door frame and is invisible from the outside. The module supports Matter natively and draws continuous power through the door frame, eliminating battery replacements. Launch is planned for Q4 2026, initially for new-build doors.

Rademacher Belt Winder with Matter Certification

Rademacher has received CSA certification for a smart roller shutter belt winder with Matter over Thread. The device controls roller shutters electrically and communicates via Matter through a Thread Border Router or Rademacher's proprietary DuoFern protocol. Belt winders with native Matter support remain a real rarity.
